With more than 30 years’ experience in ERP software and a global presence in three continents, Nolan Business Solutions provides value for money and confidence in the products and services we provide. We are looking to expand our vibrant team, therefore looking for a Junior Systems Administrator.

Duties and responsibilities:

Duties of a Junior Systems Administrator will involve starting to take on responsibility for and assisting in the following areas:

  • Administrating the Windows domain, user passwords, user access, VPN access

  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues encountered (including network issues)

  • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based operating systems

  • Maintenance and administration of our physical and virtual infrastructure (including printers, wireless APs, phones)

  • Windows Updates Service maintenance and distribution

  • VM Server maintenance, installing new VM machines for various stakeholders, maintaining the current VM’s

  • Installation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of the companies laptop/desktop PC’s

  • Anti-virus software maintenance and distribution

  • Internal network administration, including the internal network, Wi-Fi and physical network itself

  • VOIP phone support and configuration

  • Ensure the backups complete and troubleshoot any issues

  • Assisting internal teams where appropriate

  • Prepare and maintain written documentation of server and application environments.

  • Create and update documentation as required

  • Gsuite (Google) and Office 365 account administration

  • Active Directory – group policy updates, user accounts, group creation

Skills and competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows OS (7 and 10) and Windows Server OS (2008, 2012 R2 and 2016)

  • Linux

  • VMWare/Virtualbox experience

  • Networking/DHCP/DNS understanding

  • Active Directory/GPO experience

  • Strong troubleshooting background and analytical skills

  • Positive, helpful attitude
