What’s New in NetSuite 2026.1
by Sam Power on
NetSuite 2026.1 is here, introducing a range of new features and enhancements designed to support with faster insight, stronger controls, and smarter automation. To help you cut through the detail, we’ve highlighted five updates worth knowing about as they go live - plus one bonus feature at the end that you may also want to keep in mind.
Narrative Insights
You may notice a new Generate Insight button at the bottom of some standard reports, such as the Income Statement or Trial Balance. This button transforms complex report detail into concise, actionable insights. When you select this option, a pop-up appears providing an executive summary, key findings, areas for concern, and opportunities.
But it’s not just for reports. The Generate Insight button is also available on records such as Journals, Customer Payments, Sales Orders, and Support Cases. As with reports, clicking the button opens a pop-up with concise information about the record, its related records, and any causes for concern.
You can enable this via Setup > AI Preferences. Once enabled, try it on a Journal or a report such as the Current Inventory Snapshot.
Intelligent Close Manager
Do you ever wish you had greater visibility over your accounts during period close? Intelligent Close Manager is a powerful monitoring tool, transforming the month-end checklist into a continuous workflow where users are directed to financial exceptions throughout the period.
It centres around a new dashboard portlet where users can view a prioritised list of tasks due before period end. Transactions flagged by NetSuite’s Exception Management feature are easy to access so you can review, address any issues, or approve them.
To enable this, go to Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features > Accounting sub tab > Advanced Features. To get the most out of Intelligent Close Manager, it’s also worth enabling Exception Management.
Payment Date Predictions
Cash flow is everything, and forecasting it can be difficult. NetSuite has built a machine learning tool to help users understand when invoices are likely to be paid, based on the customer’s history and payment terms.
If your account has sufficient invoicing data, this feature will add two fields, predicted payment date and predicted overdue days, which will start populating on your invoice records. If you use the Cash 360 dashboard, these fields feed into the Cash Forecast to give a more realistic picture of expected inflows.
You can enable this via Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features > Accounting sub tab.
Item Pricing
NetSuite is introducing two new features to give pricing managers more flexibility and control over how sales pricing is managed.
Advanced Pricing: Price Rules
Price Rules are now available on all major sales transactions, giving users more flexibility than ever before. This feature lets you create time-bound, highly specific rules to govern which price level is used based on the customer and items. Because you can apply these rules to a customer group, they can be applied dynamically based on customer criteria rather than selecting customers individually.
Cost-Plus Pricing
When creating a new price level, you can now select a Cost+ method and set a markup percentage. This can be based on Average Cost or a new field: Cost for Pricing.
Bonus feature: Sandbox refresh restrictions have been removed
Great news for admins and developers, sandbox refresh limits have been removed. Allowing you to refresh your environment as often as needed, making it easier to test changes thoroughly before moving them into production. This supports smoother development and testing cycles, helping changes reach production more confidently and efficiently.
